As the nation’s largest donor and volunteer supported mentoring network, Big Brothers Big Sisters makes meaningful, monitored matches between adult volunteers (“Bigs”) and children (“Littles”), ages 8 through 18, in communities across the country.
We develop positive relationships that have a direct and lasting effect on the lives of young people.
“What I’ve learned from Sunnie is to be a role model and to make a difference no matter how small it is. The best part of having a Big Sister is to be able to talk to someone if times are rough and to have someone to connect with.”
Little Sister Bella
“My hope for Bella is that she is forever happy, always blessed, and consistently given the opportunities she deserves. I feel so fortunate to be one of the adults in her life that gets to walk next to her on her journey into adulthood and beyond.”
Big Sister Sunnie
“I’m proud that Alex shows continuous growth. It inspires me to hear that when he faces challenges he trusts me enough to share them with me. It also inspires me that when he faces adversity, he practices humility and allows himself to learn from his experience. Most importantly, my Little Bro is a cool dude!”
Big Brother Seiro
“My daughter’s Big Sister, Shelby, has exceeded my expectations and more. She is involved with helping resolve the issues my daughter has had at home and school all while making sure it doesn’t undermine me. She is constantly finding teaching moments in their outings as well as introducing her to new things. She is very supportive and non-judgmental. Since having Shelby as a Big Sister my daughter has drastically improved her attitude, grades and behavior.”

“I’ve learned a lot of things from my Big Sister like sewing, knitting and lots more. My favorite thing I’ve learned from Shelby was how to sew pillowcases. Shelby is special to me because she’s fun, nice and inspires me to be good. She’s the best Big Sister ever!”
