(USA Today) SAFE CU awards grant to Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Sacramento Area

SAFE Credit Union awarded a $10,000 grant to support Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Sacramento’s efforts to scale up its school mentoring programs.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Sacramento Area serves children 7-18 raised by single parents, grandparents, and foster families in Sacramento, Placer, and Yolo counties. Since 2017, it has seen growth in its services to youths who benefit from one-on-one mentoring relationships with positive role models.

The grant will support Big Brothers Big Sisters Sacramento Area in scaling up its services from 269 children to 314 children. The impact of the mentoring services is estimated to expand to more than 1,200 people total, including the children, mentors, parents, guardians, siblings, and teachers.
